How Boosting works
Boosting puts weight behind a Vent. The more a Vent is Boosted, the higher it sits in the feed and the more people see it. Boosts start at $5 and you can Boost any Vent, including one you posted yourself.
A Boost is a payment for visibility only. It is not a prize, a wager, or a payment to whoever posted the Vent. Nobody receives your money except VENT, and no Vent pays out.
What other people can see
A Boosted Vent shows one number: the total Boosted, and how many people Boosted it. Names are never shown, because VENT has no names. Individual amounts are never shown either, so nobody can tell who paid what.
Payments
Card payments are handled by Stripe. VENT never sees or stores your card details. A Boost is applied as soon as the payment clears, and a Boost that has been applied is final: the Vent has already moved up and other people have already seen it.
Posting rules
VENT is anonymous and stays that way. Do not post names, contact details, addresses, workplaces or anything else that identifies a real person, your own identity included. No threats, no harassment, no illegal content.
Every Vent can be reported. A Vent reported by several people is hidden automatically, whether or not it has been Boosted. Boosting a Vent does not protect it from being reported or removed, and Boosts on a removed Vent are not returned.

VENT is provided as it is, and it can change. Vents are user submissions and do not represent the views of VENT. We can remove a Vent at any time.
